‘I have had music theory lessons with Lucy for over a year. Before the lessons I knew very little theory and my playing was limited by this.
Lucy was very skilled at breaking the subject into manageable chunks and communicating it in a way that wasn’t daunting and was actually fun. She listened to my playing and worked hard to direct the lessons specifically to my needs.
We covered major and minor scales, pentatonic and blues scales, modes, chords and chord extensions, and practicing techniques such as timing, scale sequences.
I have seen massive changes in my playing and now have a much better grip of playing my instrument, especially how to compose pieces and playing with other musicians’ – James, current student.
